Think Positive!

Ever since I saw this photo it had an immediate emotional impact on me.  This a true representation of how horrible we can feel about our lives inside and out, but yet in this despair have an inkling that our lives can be better.

I say, “Move out of the trailer park and into a comfortable abode” by thinking positive and believing that the energy that comes off these intentions will shape a happier life.

Reach Your Full Potential by Playing The Vision Master Game

Like many people, Jennifer Becker grew up in a family that did not have the financial, emotional or parental resources to support and build her self-esteem and encourage her to identify or go after her dreams.

“If you don’t receive ongoing encouragement and support growing up,” Jennifer explained, “your chances of experiencing a successful and rewarding life are greatly diminished.  I learned that if you’re not getting the support and encouragement you need and deserve, you’ve got to find a way to get it.”

So she founded the Conscious Product Center website and The Vision Master Game and other products and activities to help people maximize their full potential.

The back story is, over the years, Jennifer has held many corporate management positions, owned her own businesses, and worked as a business coach, personal development trainer, and mastermind group leader. Then, while working in executive positions, she found herself looking for and uncovering the “best way to get employees to work together in group settings for the most successful outcomes.”

It struck her that “egos played a role in disturbing the group dynamics” and that “the better a participant had a good sense of themself, the better the learning environment.”  But in working on this issue, she came away astonished at how many people had poor self-esteem and did not have dreams, hopes, and visions for their lives.

Jennifer then started searching for a process to solve this and eventually came up with The Vision Master Game. The game box contains a beautifully designed playing surface; 4 unique decks of cards with distinct questions, ideas, observations, intentions, and actions; wooden player pieces for moving through the game; dice; and a pouch with colored stones that are accumulated by players.  To see the game in action, watch the short video below.

Jennifer found that the playfulness of the game minimized dramatic egos and stimulated the brain to expand beyond its limited view to unlock the potential in participants.  She explained, “Energy is created where you find answers to questions and people are surprised with what comes out of their mouths.  It’s a channel to greater knowledge and the free flow of information.”

Other products offered on her website include:

  • Sign up for a FREE “Start Your Day” audio message that will be sent you by email to start your day with power and confidence.
  • For anyone who mentions they heard about her website in this article, Jennifer will also offer through her online Store for FREE (it usually costs $3.99), her audio recording “How Important Are You?
  • Stay tuned to the website because several new audio recordings will be published in the coming weeks!

Jennifer says her website offers a “spoonful of motivational medicine to help people feel like they matter and are worthy of accomplishing great things.”  It’s a kick-start for the brain!

I completely agree with this article about enlightenment. It talks about our energy being a precious commodity, not to be wasted. I came to this understanding too, that it is possible to let other peoples’ shit roll off your back and let it be theirs as you stay in your own loving and positive frame of mind.

It is difficult to maintain this mindset, but once learned it never leaves you and things affect you less as you grow in spirit. What is around us in our daily life is a make believe play — you can choose to react as scripted or write your own response. Think of your energy as a precious commodity and direct it positively for your own and others good.

Chores. Love. Service.

Three years ago I discovered the secret to life. I was elated and on a high. Nothing could bother me. I felt free and as light as Dandelion seeds completely absent any resistance and taking flight easily whichever way the wind blew. Things that used to infuriate me just didn’t anymore. It simply wasn’t worth my energy to feel rotten and miserable. The secret I learned is that our energy is a precious commodity, even more precious than gems and diamonds.

The euphoria came because it wasn’t just a theory. It was knowledge infused into the very cells of my body. I was a superhero who went out into the world unable to spend my precious energy in any way that was wasteful.

Food for thought article … what exit do you take from the freeway and what street do you live on?

davidlifecoach - www.lifecoachdavid.com

What exit are you taking on the highway of life?

You know when you’re driving on the highway there’s exit signs for the various street names and towns?

There’s also signs that welcome you to a new state – like “welcome to New Jersey, the garden state”.

Try to think of your life as being on a highway, but instead of the exit signs letting you know which street or town a particular exit will take you to, the exit signs are thought related.

For example, some of the exit signs you might see on the highway of life are “Feel Good Street”, “Joy Avenue”, “Excitement Lane”, “Laughterville”, “Perfect Health Blvd.”, “Wonderful Relationship Road” or even “Welcome to a Happy Life”!

Of course I was giving you some examples of exits you’d want to take!

However, there is always contrast, so some of the exits you may see, or may be…

Nice thought … I can’t emphasize more what a big role being grateful plays in enjoying life.

Try to see all blessings given to you. No matter how sad you are. Try to find something positive even in the worst situation. Experience, and knowledge about people and life are also profits. Sometimes really more precious, than money. If you can learn from your failures, you’ll be able to get all, what you want.  So take bad times in life as they are – precious lesson of life.  Stand up, and move on! And be thankful for all good, what you got on your path of life. For all blessings.

AquaCure Diary: Final Week, Very Happy

About a month ago I started my AquaCure experiment, where for one month I drank water out of a glass with positive words written on it and said affirmations out loud.  I came up with the idea to improve my health, after seeing Masuro Emoto’s  test of rice and photographs of water crystals and writing about it in How Water is Deeply Connected to Our Individual and Collective Consciousness.

In AquaCure: First Week, Subtle Change I talked about reading a self-help book titled “Why Don’t I do the Things I know are Good for Me?”   This book was refreshing and enlightening as it went to the heart of my issue “self-care.”  I learned that rational thoughts may tell us what would be good for us, but our fatigue and emotions – the need for immediate stress relief or comfort – override our rationality.  In order to develop good self-care, we need to learn new behaviors that cause us to act in our own long-term best interest rather than momentary satisfaction.
The second week AquaCure: Second Week, a Positive Shift I told a story about how a friend went on a non-gluten diet and that inspired me to do the same.  I went on the food plan as a lark, but within days I took it serious because I saw my body and energy shift as I lost the addictive urge to stuff my face with food, my energy became balanced instead of highs and lows, I could think clearer, aches and pains went away, and I lost weight.

And in the third week AquaCure:  Third Week, Loving Gluten-Free Diet I went on to estole the benefits of the non-gluten diet by providing research about gluten’s link to chronic diseases and facts like “Did you know that 1 in 7 people have an intolerance to gluten, a protein in wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats.”

As an extra dimension to the experiment I even tried different types of water each week – Week 1 was tap water, Week 2 bottled water, Week 3 filtered water, and Week 4 ionized water.

To tell you the honest truth, I couldn’t tell a difference in drinking types of waters, so I think manifestation is more determined on the “quality of your thoughts” rather than “quality of the water.”  My own opinion is focusing on the water glass makes you stop and give more energy to your intention and that was the key — the universe gave me these guided gifts, I listened to my intuition, and then acted on them.  Below are the manifestations:

  1. Led to the self-help book
  2. A friend told me about their gluten-free food plan
  3. And the final manifestation that I haven’t told you about is … a puppy.

Lucy

I have been wanting a dog the past few years and have looked but nothing stuck. That is until a few weeks ago when I stepped into a PetSmart store to look at the latest round of shelter dogs.  Although I wanted an older, trained dog, a little puppy Chiweenie (cross between Chihuahua and Dachshund) stole my heart.  When I held her, she melted into my arms.  And ever since, she and the above manifestations have brought more health, happiness, and joy into my life.

I love this article from Journey to Self Acceptance. It reminds us of the contrast between letting people put their @%#^$#& on us, and our choosing not to accept it and instead be happy in each moment.

JOURNEY TO SELF-ACCEPTANCE

This is the first day of my commitment to my own happiness!  Today I make a declaration to choose to do things that make me happy and to find pleasure in the simple moments in my life.  Even though sometimes I don’t feel I deserve to, I will be happy regardless of my accomplishments (or idleness) and despite all the things I think I should have first.  I can live in a perpetual state of happiness, without conditions or prerequisites.  (Love) and happiness is the key to existence.  I already enjoy being happy.  I choose to smile a lot.  So now I get to seek out and do things that make me happy.

Of course a major factor in this is project is to stay in the present moment.  It’s easy to experience joy in any given moment.  In fact, it’s the only way some people can experience it.  It happens to them unconsciously in moments…

AquaCure Diary: Third Week, Loving Gluten-Free Diet

My AquaCure experiment has 7 days left.  I am at the end of my third week of drinking glasses of water each day with positive words written on them. To read my past posts, see Week 1 and Week 2 .

Today, I want to emphasize what a benefit it has been to go on a non-gluten diet.  I must admit, going on this type of food plan was the last thought in my head.  But guidance while on my AquaCure experiment led me to this opportunity, and I said “Why not?”

I didn’t expect to like it — being off pizza, toast, noodles, flour tortillas didn’t sound inviting– but within a few days of starting the food plan I felt the benefits, even though a friend told me her holistic doctor said it takes 2-3 months to realize the full effect.

What I have experienced was no mood swings or energy peaks and valleys, a clearness of thought, loss of about 9 lbs, I don’t have uncontrollable urges to food binge, and a lower blood pressure and cholesterol.  This non-gluten food plan has been a blessing that I plan to continue.

Did you know that 1 in 7 people have an intolerance to gluten, a protein in wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats. Gluten intolerance is the inability to digest or break down gluten.  This causes problems with digesting vitamins and minerals and this brings about an inflammation in the small intestines that is related to illnesses like:

  • According to NaturalNews.com, eating foods containing gluten can lead to rheumatoid arthritis, a disease characterized by inflammation and pain in the joint, and serious conditions such as diabetes and intestinal cancer.
  • ln an article titled Gluten Attacks the Brain and Damages the Nervous System, it says “Approximately 10 percent of people with Celiac disease [that many gluten intolerant people have] develop neurologic symptoms, according to the Center for Peripheral Neuropathy.” And this causes unexplained dizziness to numbness in the hands and feet.
  • The Nutrition Research Center warns that if you have skin conditions or chronic health problems that won’t go away, you should serious consider getting off gluten.

Some very prominent people are on no gluten diets. Here’s an article from TheCelebrityCafe.com called “Top Ten Gluten-Free Celebrities that include: Zooey Deschanel, Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jenny McCarthy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Chelsea Clinton among others.  I understand Oprah Winfrey is also gluten-free.

There must really be something to this gluten-free movement because tons of products, bakeries, and recipes are popping up on the market. To tantalize your taste buds, below are links to a few yummy-looking gluten-free recipes.  Click on the images to be transported to the websites.

Grateful for Simple Pleasures – Instruction #2

Do you remember those special moments in your life when you discover something small and simple but yet profound because it makes your life easier?

I was thinking about this and my list of special discoveries begins with an ergonomic peeler .  Yes, a potato, carrot, zucchini type peeler.  As I grew up, I remember using one of those skinny, metal peelers and often having indentations in my fingers after peelings a bunch of potatoes.  Then one day, I was gifted with an OXO good grip peeler and my life changed.  Now I can peel away without pain and frustration.

Another item that made a difference in my life was discovering down blankets.  I grew up in San Francisco, which is known for it’s cold, windy, foggy days.  Often at night as a child I was cold.  I’d pile on the blankets, and then go to my closet and pile on coats and robes to bring a little warmth.

When I was a young adult, I flew to Germany to meet and travel with a boyfriend who was in the military. While in Deutschland, and staying in quaint little hotels that dotted the Bavarian alps, I discovered down blankets on their beds. Ever since that trip, I’ve purchased fluffy down blankets for my beds and have never been cold at night again.

When you talk about possessions, the first thing that comes to mind is having that big house or fancy car … but great pleasure can be derived from simple items like a peeler or down blanket.

It all depends on your perspective.  It’s just a matter of first opening yourself to try something new instead of continuing to be frustrated or marred by finger indentations or freezing cold, then realizing how its enhanced your life, and finally be grateful.

LIFE INSTRUCTION No. 2:  Be grateful for the simple pleasures and discoveries in your life — whether it’s the smile of a baby or a potato peeler.  It’s when we accumulate a lot of small little positive moments like this that we feel happiness growing in our spirit.

What are your simple pleasures and discoveries?

Step out of your comfort zone!

AquaCure Diary: Second Week, a Positive Shift

This is the end of the second week on my AquaCure experiment, where I drink glasses of water each day with positive words written on them.

In my last post, I talked about the glasses of water giving me a positive focus while repeating affirmations like:

I fill my body with love and gratitude for life and joy.

I thank my body for serving me well over the years, for protecting me, and keeping me healthy.

I ask the water to clear out any impurities in my body, mind, and soul.

I have a body that is strong, with normal cells that grow healthier everyday.

Thank you universe for guiding me to take good care of myself.

This week, I want to talk about a shift I’m seeing in my body and energy. A friend told me about how she has started on a non-gluten diet — which at its core means no wheat.  She explained that she has had skin rashes and allergies, so she went to a holistic doctor who suggested this course of action.

As she spoke, my mind wandered to a time about 3 years ago, when I thought about going on this type of food plan.  I suspected that I might have a problem with gluten, and even explored the idea a little by subscribing to the Gluten Free Club, a website that sent me emails with tips and recipes.  But I never tried it.  I ignored that guidance.

That is until now, because when I learned about my friend, I decided to get off my butt and give up wheat products.  I felt like intuition had knocked twice, and I know that if you don’t listen it knocks harder each time, so I paid attention.  For the past week, I’ve had no toast, french bread, sandwiches, flour tortillas, croutons, chips, spaghetti or pizza, and I’m doing just fine.

Now that I see this list of foods — it hit me that these wheat products are the usual staples of obese people who appear on the Biggest Loser television program.  Reality Check!  Maybe there is something to limiting gluten products, not only for rashes and allergies, but also obesity?

How do I feel after no gluten for a week?  My ravishing hunger for fast foods and all things fattening has diminished and I’m feeling more in control, the weight started dropping at a fast pace (at about a pound a day), and I’m not riding the energy roller coaster, instead I’m taking a leisurely drive.

While I haven’t fully committed to this regime, I must say that not eating bread feels right, and I’m starting to find equally satisfying alternatives like a corn tortilla instead of flour, and a grocery cashier told me that quinoa spaghetti noodles are just as good, if not better, than wheat.

So, I’m going to continue to follow my food guidance to see where it leads me.  It feels like a life shift is happening?  Thank you water-glass Gods!

AquaCure Diary: First Week, Subtle Changes

It was about a week ago that I started my AquaCure experiment, where for one month I plan on drinking water out of a glass that has positive words written on the outside.

I came up with the idea to do this experiment to improve my health, after seeing Masuro Emoto‘s test of rice and photographs of water crystals that form beautiful crystals to harmonious words like “Love,” and “Gratitude,” and ugly shapes to negative words like “Hitler” and “I hate you.”

Below, is a book that Emoto wrote on “The Healing Power of Water.”

This week I was guided to read a self-help book that I mentioned in my post AquaCure Diary – My Healing Experiment, titled “Why Don’t I do the Things I know are Good for Me?”   The book was both refreshing and enlightening as it went to the heart of my issue “self-care.”  Quotes that stood out were:
  • Sometimes we do just the opposite of what we know to be in our own best interests.  We overeat and under exercise; we spend every last nickel; we fall in love with bad boys and marry inappropriate men.  We accumulate too much stuff, procrastinate and fritter away time, neglect our bodies, mismanage our money, and bail out on ourselves in countless ways.
  • Our self-care behavior is often not based on rationality – it’s based on instincts and emotions.  If we feel anxious and fearful, we know that spending time mediating, taking a along walk, or calling a friend would be good self-care, but instead we reach for ice cream or candy bar to soothe ourselves.
  • Our rational thoughts may tell us what would be good for us, but our fatigue and emotions – the need for immediate stress relief or comfort – override our rationality.
  • Allowing short-term or immediate concerns to out-weigh our long-term self-interest is probably the single biggest reason we often don’t do what we know is good for us. You are not alone – millions of us do the same thing.
  • In terms of doing what we know is good for us, using addictive substances or engaging in addictive processes like shopping are the antithesis of good self-care.  The problem is, even when we come out of our denial, we can’t quit even if we desperately want to.  We’re hooked.
  • If you wait until we feel like it[develop self-care], we might never learn new behaviors and habits.  So we must go to the gym, even if we’re tired.  We can choose a salad from the menu, even if we’d rather have a pizza.   Acting in our own best interest often means “faking it until we make it.”

I can’t quantify yet what effects my experiment has had on my life because the changes have been subtle.  I am having less aches and pains in the morning, I have lost a few pounds, a rash on left foot that I’ve had for months has disappeared, and my energy is slowly returning.

I can also say that it’s nice to have a focus like the water glass.  When I fill the glass with water, hold it between my two hands as I utter affirming words, in my mind’s eye I see the molecules changing to heal my body.  Out of this focus comes a peaceful energy that’s almost like meditating.  It may even be what Eckhart Tolle calls being in the NOW.

When you surrender to what is and so become fully present, the past ceases to have any power. You do not need it anymore. Presence is the key. Now is the key.
